Forged to Defeat the Dark One
Created with a recipe obtained only through a granted wish, the Supreme Sword of Light is the ultimate weapon of hope. Forged from many rare materials, only the Luminary can wield this powerful relic to vanquish Calasmos, bringing light to Erdrea once again.
For this commission, I forge the Supreme Sword of Light to aid the Luminary on this most important quest!

Making the Supreme Sword of Light
The Supreme Sword of life is completely hand sculpted. The base utilizes pink insulation (“XPS” foam) cut to a rough outline, then carefully trimmed with a utility knife and sanded to shape. An layer of 6mm EVA foam was affixed to the winged hilt for additional depth. PVC pipe creates the base of the grip, with details further built up using Paperclay. A combination of EVA foam, Paperclay, and Worbla details make up the sun-burst pommel. Once these pieces were assembled, the entire sword was coated in SmoothOn’s Epsilon Epoxy for durability and weather proofing.
With the Epsilon coat sanded smooth, filigree details were hand sculpted on the hilt and blade using apoxie clay. Smooth red cabochons accent the blade, hilt, and pommel, held in place with a basic superglue and set with apoxie clay. A double layer of Worbla was used to create the raised gold accents up each side of the blade, each with heat tooled runes stretching their length.
The Supreme Sword of Light was finished with a coat of satin “paint and primer,” then hand painted with custom mixed acrylics. The finished Supreme Sword of light measures a comfortable 35 inches (0.88 meters) in length, and weighs less than one pound (0.45kg).
