Gimli’s Helmet, Replica Wearable Helmet

This is a handmade, resin & real leather replica of Gimli’s helmet from the Lord of the Rings series. Originally hand sculpted in the Dovah workshop. See product description below for additional material and fit details.

Description

“Roaring fires, malt beer, red meat off the bone!”

This is a handmade, resin & real leather Gimli’s helmet replica from the Lord of the Rings series. Originally hand sculpted in the Dovah workshop, hard portions of the helmet helmet are slush cast in SmoothCast 300, then sanded, primed, and painted to look like metal. Neck cover is made of three layers of 3-5oz leather, hand burnished, tooled, dyed, and sewn together. Neck strap is made using 3oz leather, also hand tooled with Dwarven elements, and lined with faux suede. Neck strap affixes at the front with a 1/2″ (1.2cm) brass buckle. Each gold “plate” is individually cast in resin, then hand tied to the outer neck covering with flat leather lace. Inner helmet is fitted with soft foam strips, hidden beneath faux suede lining.

Helmet is lightweight (2.87lb/1.3kg) durable, and safe for wearing to conventions, fairs, D&D tables, or any other fantasy event! Finished helmet fits most adults with head circumferences between 22″ – 23.5″ comfortably. Head measurement should be taken straight around the center of the forehead to the back of the head.

** Helmet seen on the gray bust is the helmet you will receive! ** This is one of only two Gimli helmet replicas currently made by Dovah Design. Future orders will be made-to-order only. Not recommended for use when LARPing.

Approximate outer dimensions of helmet: 10.5″ x 10.5″ x 12″ (26.7cm x 26.7cm x 30.5cm)
Fits head sizes 22″ – 23.5″ (55cm – 58cm)
Bust in images has a 22″ (55.88cm) head. Model in photos has 23.5″ (59.6cm) head. Fit will be tight on heads with circumference of 24″ (61cm)
Will be shipped via UPS with insurance.
